A fishing boat trips paradise for generations past and generations to come

The Atlantic seas unique environment provides access to the reef within 15/20 minutes travelling  giving you maximum fishing time upon arrival. Take the whole family reef fishing —yes, even the kids—and reel in grouper, snapper and dourado just a few miles offshore. Whether just for fun or to catch the night’s meal, reef fishing is a great way to experience the Atlantic ocean. No experience is necessary.

If you’re interested in Big Game Fishing, board our 33-foot Francisco for some serious deep-sea fishing, Algarve xcite style. At depths of nearly *** feet, you can reel in tuna, marlins and other species—and come back with your own fantastic tales.

A typical full day Shark or Big Game Fishing starts at 9.45am Leaving Vilamoura Marina at 10am to travel to the fishing grounds.

For Shark Fishing On arrival at the fishing grounds, bags full of mashed fish know locally as “Rubby Dubby” are hung from the side of the boat, this creates a scent to attract sharks to the area. Passengers can help increase the chances of catching a shark by frequently shaking the Rubby Dubby bag, which makes for a better scent and trail. The better the scent the better chances of attracting sharks into the area.

On all of our fishing trips no matter how long or short Tackle consists of a good quality rod and multiplier reel holding 300-400yards of 30-80lb line.

With Reef – We fish with Rigs of two Hooks and Bait with Squi while anchored on the reef and catch bottom species (We only keep species w/ minimum size by law).

With Shark – A size 10/0 or 12/0 hook is baited with sardines and fresh mackerel and the lines are set at different depths and allowed to drift away from the boat (often we will drift several miles during the day, as the boats drifts with the wind and tide).

With Big Game Fishing – We go trolling with lures of different sizes for pelagic species like the marlin, tuna and dorado.

Once the fish is hooked it is important to ensure that the clutch setting on the reel is not too strong so the fish can take line when running without fear of the line breaking.

Get ready for a big battle when you hook a Shark , tuna or a Marlin and start preparing your personal tail of how you caught a monster whilst fishing with Algarve xcite on the famous Francisco.

“Catch and Release Policy” to Protect our Sport

We operates a strict ‘catch & release’ policy when shark and Big Game fishing. It is the only way forward if we are to keep a healthy fishery. Other countries have found out that if you kill your fish you also kill your sport.

We will try our hardest to unhook the shark or Marlin get you a decent photograph, then release within minutes of getting it aboard (giving the fishk the best chance of survival when released).
